Kuwa Mjanja
Challenge
How might we design a tablet-based tool that community health workers can carry to help them better engage AGYW and their parents about sexual and reproductive health?
Outcome
Khanga Rue designed Mjanja Connect, a first-of-its-kind app with fun video content, quizzes and information that could engage girls and parents with information about puberty, SRH, and contraception.
The approach
Khanga Rue, in partnership with PSI and Adolescent360 designed a content rich digital tablet experience that educates adolescent girls and young women on contraceptives and helps them make choices about their future. The app was carried by community healthcare workers and was used by thousands of Tanzanians! All the content and the interface was designed and created by Khanga Rue. Khanga Rue also created and executed key marketing assets, such as the “Kuwa Mjanja” anthem and music video.
